When Cecilija Simic from Stockholm was pregnant with her second child in the winter of 2003, she came up with a business idea. Cecilija couldn't find any trousers that would cover and warm her growing stomach in the cold weather. So she went home to find a solution, she sewed a pair of trousers and a skirt together.

Cecilija's new trousers were shaped like a tube of stretch material from the waist up and could be folded over the stomach like a skirt. She started the company Cecilija S. and patented her invention.

The first 600 pairs of trousers sold out in four months. In 2006 Cecilija received an inventor's grant from the city of Stockhlm as well as other awards for her clever invention. Cecilija began to create more types of clothing and expanded her company. Her clothing was made in Latvia and sold in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
