A label on the reverse gives the names of G.F.Th. Raben, Apenrade [modern Aabenraa], with the date 1855, and C. Guldager. Another label has a Danish inscription (partly legible) translated as follows:
'On August 8th 1855 information was received from Canton that the Aabenraa schooner Matilde has been lost… outside the Yangtze River after losing a mast in a ferocious storm…
