The hand painted Raku fired work by the South African artist Francke Gretchen Crots (b.1995) is titled The Nihilist Calendar. A Nihilist is a person who believes that life is meaningless. The Nihilist Calendar is a calendar Elisha Shapiro started publishing in 1980, the calendar celebrates random events every year. Sort Biography: Crots was born in Kroonstad 24 March 1995. In 2014 Crots studied graphic design at the Northwest University in Potchefstroom and won a Merit award at the Sasol New Signatures in 2017.
