"Santiago Rusiñol (Barcelona, 1861 – Aranjuez, 1931) conceived the Cau Ferrat as a temple devoted to beauty with the purpose to achieve the ideal of total Art.

The panel titled “To the music” belongs to an ensemble of three lancet art screens that dominates the Great Hall head, together with the ones dedicated to Painting and Poetry. They have a remarkable character symbolic and decorative, closely linked to architecture that puts them in a frame and they represent a change of register in his artistic career, representing a clear influence of the French and Belgian symbolist movement and the travel to Italy where he discovered Italian primitive painters."
