Nowadays, information is easily accessible through the Internet. For example, a person can share his/her personal experience with another person across the miles instantly via different social media on the Internet. Tang, the artist, is particularly fascinated by the power of search engines, especially when searching for images worldwide.
In this work, Tang searched for more than 100 images on Google using key words such as "tree", "sea", "landscape", "human", "animal", "village", "building", "town", "road", "car", "airplane", etc. Then he stuck the printouts onto glass plates and carved the images to construct a photo album of the world as if created by Google. To the artist, these photos describe an non?Vexistent and contradictory place viewed from different angles. He named this place "u Mu Dao". In Chinese, "Mu Mu Dao" means "Photographic Island".
