One of the most celebrated payment orders at the Banco di Napoli Historical Archives – the payment order requested by the Croatian merchant Radolovich to Caravaggio for an altarpiece which has never been found or was never painted. The payment order, registered in a daily copybook in 1606, provide an extraordinarily detailed image of the proposed painting.
