The Restoration of the Icons. The representation depicts the Triumph of Orthodoxy, a festival marking the end of Iconoclasm in 843 and the triumph of the Greek spirit over the iconoclast movement in the East. Although a copy of a Palaiologan model, it was revitalised by the addition of iconographic elements from Cretan painting. Cretan workshop, third quarter of 16th c. 0.512x0.407 m.
