The Rev. Alfred James Carver (1826-1909): in 1858 appointed Master of Alleyn's College of God's Gift, which, under his mastership, divided to become Dulwich College and Alleyn's School; responsible for the rebuilding of the College by Charles Barry Junior, 1866-70; retired, 1883. DPG497 was exhibited at the RA in 1882.
