A Saloia, evidences the value given by Varela Aldemira in his works to two elected motives - the rural experience and the landscape - a record on the reason of naturalistic matrix, where the figure seems to be distant from the landscape. Faithful to the naturalist aesthetic, Aldemira structures landscape representation as a perspective space tinted by spots that make up the plots, using different shades and crossing lines and planes that confer the notion of an idealized space, marked by the presence of a watercourse. The figure of the young woman, sitting in profile in a higher area and holding a clay pitcher, occupies the first plane of the right angle of the work, covering the view of the landscape and giving an accentuation of contrast values between the observer and the landscaping scenery.
The white blouse, long-sleeved and frilly, is girdled at the waist by the gray-white ruffle apron, tonally dubbed pieces that define the shadows and accentuate the volume, resulting in a contrast between the whites of the direct sun and the shade areas.
