A stylised figural presentation, the portrait of a soldier is done in integral tones of red, blue, green, black and white. A standing male figure given en face with black hair, eyes and moustache, dressed in parade military clothing, with sabre in hands; uniform and cap are accentuated with white contour line. Stylised vegetation is in the background. The relationship of complementary colours is characteristic; the forms are two-dimensional and flat. The images of ancestors and descendants, famous people of native and general history create recognisable iconography of Miodrag Pavlović Dragomirac, thus in the oeuvre of this artist, we find a whole gallery of standard portraits, beginning with the first images of village newlyweds, through King’s Guard, until Karađorđe and Josip Broz Tito. The artist presented these illustrations in his subjective viewing, sentimental and longing, as “he knew”. Visible characteristics of his expression are specific vertical perspective, pronounced colour contrasts and special balance of pictorial elements (N. Ljubomirović).
