It started as one mushroom then another mushroom grew next to it and started getting tangled with the first one. Fairies kept flying in and out of the mushroom and with the fairy dust the mushroom made fairy pollen so fairies are helping it grow and keeping it alive. The mushroom is making fairy pollen for the fairies. The idea came from looking at climate change and sustainable ideas for the future. I'd also been looking at mosaic mushroom pictures, a collage an artist has made of a mushroom and futuristic pictures of mushrooms.

I made this at Art Lab in Birtley (Gateshead), a place where you can use your imagination to create what you would like.

This piece was made at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art as part of Arts Council England's The Way I See It project which captures the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the lives of children and young people, articulated in their own voices, through their own creativity.

BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead creates and produce exhibitions, events and learning opportunities that explore the role of art and artists, and the world around us.
