The Tapestry Room

This fireplace is believed to been brought over from Rome. Originally based at Bute residence Lutton Hoo, it was relocated to Mount Stuart following a fire there. However, following the 1877 fire at Mount Stuart, the fireplace luckily survived and was brought to Dumfries House where it has been ever since.
