The east struck the author with his fabulousness, captivated by the unusualness of everyday life, charmed with his decorative art. Nikolaev accepted Islam, and taking the pseudonym Usto Mumin moved to Tashkent in 1925.
Usto Mumin is a master who saw in the unique originality of the artistic appearance of Samarkand and Bukhara, in the individual beauty of the Uzbeks and Tajiks, the features of the Italian Renaissance.
