The Virgin and Child enthroned. Late 15th c. The main figure of the Virgin is flanked by two venerating angels. The wide frame is adorned with four scenes from the life of Christ and portraits of saints. This imposing icon is attributed to the famous Cretan painter Andreas Ritzos (ca 1421-1492) , who was active in Candia (Herakleion), or his workshop. 0.875x0.648 m. (ΓΕ 3051)
