The Wagoners' Memorial, Main Street, Sledmere, East Riding of Yorkshire

This original, illustrative war memorial reveals local landowner and Member of Parliament Sir Mark Sykes’ pride in the story of the local farm workers who left their homes to serve during the First World War. The sculptures by Carlo Domenico Magnoni tell the story of the Wagoners Reserve Corps in a striking and vivid manner.
