Meshack Oyerinde Olotu is a contemporary Nigerian painter born in Ifon, Ondo state in 1959. He obtained a HND from Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. Olotu is famous for his landscape paintings of Nigerian cities and photographs of historic events.

The Way Home shows a typical landscape of a semi-urban city in Nigeria comprising of houses with old, rusted, brown roofs, street roads, electric wires and poles and a visible tree in the horizon of the location portrayed. The street seems to be busy with people moving around individually and in pairs, some carrying items looking like pots of water. A mother and child can be noticed walking and probably conversing on their way home. The painting is unique as it embodies Olotu’s style of representation.
