In July 2015, Tim Sayer and his wife, Annemarie Norton, visited The Hepworth Wakefield for the first time. They were so impressed that they decided to donate their collection of over four hundred works of art to the gallery, making it one of the largest bequests to a public institution in the United Kingdom in recent years. The collection consists of paintings, sculpture, works on paper, tribal art, antiquities and ceramics - as well as an extensive library. About one hundred of these works have been brought together here for this display, celebrating the bequest.
