In the creation of texts, special attention is paid to opening pages and frontispieces, such as the extensive use of gold in ink and ornamentation. This title page of a luxury edition of the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra gives the name of the text in Sanskrit and Tibetan in large raised gold paste letters. It also contains colorful illuminations following classical Indic aesthetics depicting the four-armed goddess Prajnaparamita, the personification of the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, which was taught by the Buddha.
