El Mèdol/Soldó stone sculpture of a togaed person preserved from the plinth to the fitting for the head. It is a compact piece with little relief and no protruding elements or parts. We can see the remains of stucco in some of the folds of the toga and there are several parts missing, especially around the base. It is broken into two parts. The togaed statue was carved in the manner of a stela, as the lower part of the legs is highlighted in relief on a smooth surface. The feet bear singular footwear of which only a few parallels are known, all of them on sculptures from the Late Republican period. The dating is confirmed by the manner of wearing the lightweight cloak, the “pallium” or “toga exigua”. The poor quality of the stone and the crude carving are concealed by a layer of painted stucco. This togaed statue would have been part of one of the funerary monuments that lined the roads entering Tarraco.
