The Grimaldi-Pacioli Commercial Technical Institute of Catanzaro, has decided to adopt LA TONNINA, the former 30-meter chimney of the Le.Do.Ga, a leading company, from 1925 to 1955, in the production of tannin, extracted from chestnut wood and oak from the Silane plateau, for leather tanning
and partly in the pharmaceutical sector.Tonnina, today is a fascinating tower and a rare example of industrial archeology that dominates the enchanting landscape of Catanzaro Lido and the area of the Pacioli headquarters.
We have chosen to adopt it to contribute to a process of reappropriation of identity and emotional approach of the area so that, not only young people, but also the entire population, will rediscover the sense of belonging and responsibility towards our cultural heritage, too often forgotten. Adopt to rediscover, reconstruct, return, an unknown and submerged story full of technical, human and social values.
The dawn of the Tonnina a new future for the past!
