"Topo" was created in 1983 by Androbots, Inc., conceived and founded by Noah Bushnell, the founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese Pizza, for the purpose of teaching programming to kids. The Topo has two wheels and fixed arms, and can be programmed through an Apple II interface to execute basic movements. Three versions were manufactured; Topo model 1 was controlled by radio transmitter; models 2 and 3 used infrared transmitters. This Topo is the first commercially manufactured version, a model 1 with serial number T0183001, part of the Perham Collection of Early Electronics.
