Unlike Torah textiles that were pieced together from precious scraps of fabric, this curtain is constructed from a length of silk measuring more than five yards used in its entirety from selvedge to selvedge. The small central panel does not overwhelm the decorative repeat of the surrounding silk, the primary decorative focus of this curtain. The inscription giving the donors names and the date is accompanied by traditional motifs, flanking lions atop twisted columns.
