Besides designing submarines, Isaac Peral was also a skilled electrical engineer. He invented a variety of items such as the electric storage battery, an electric machine gun, and a light projector.
Here we can see the design of the "Total use light projector," for which Peral sought a patent in 1888. Aware that around 80% of the light from projectors was scattered, he looked for a solution using particular electric arcs and adjustable parabola-shaped reflectors.
