Fast
Faster
Fastes seems to be Édouard Lock’s motto:
the enormous fascination for complex and ultrafast movement
comes from his ideas on human observation:
“By abducting the eye with structures that are fast as lightning
or very slow movement,
you can break the way in which people observe.
We think that we know what we see,
but most of the time we aren’t really looking.
Dance can have a disorienting effect.
By showing the body in a way
in which we are incapable to comprehend,
we become alert and start to really see.”
