NASCAR, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, has governed professional auto racing in the United States since 1948. These days, the organization sanctions some 1,200 races each year which entertains millions of devoted fans. In addition to attracting more than 100,000 fans at some individual racetracks, NASCAR events draw larger TV audiences than any other sport except National Football League games. No one should be surprised that collecting die cast models of NASCAR vehicles is a thriving enterprise that also attracts millions of enthusiasts.
