The company that made Oliver tractors resulted from the merger of four manufacturers in 1929. Within a year, Oliver itself began purchasing additional companies including McKenzie Manufacturing, which specialized in potato growing and harvesting equipment, and the A. B. Farquhar Company, which had made thrashing machines since the 1890s. The last Oliver tractor was made in 1974.
