Tram Destination Sign

Trams operated to the SCG, via Driver Avenue, between the 1880s and 1961. Tram destination signs, such as this one were placed on trams to indicate to passengers the final destination of the tram.

An excerpt from the minutes of a meeting of the Trustees on 16 February states,
'Tram Motors and Calico Notices - The Dept of Railways letter 09/02/1888 was read, stating that the calicos - Cricket Ground - should be displayed on the specials [to the ground]'.
