The Paderewskis’ legacy also preserves several travel trunks ranging in size from that of a large suitcase to ones resembling wardrobes, outfitted with rods, hangers, compartments and cases, lined with coloured paper or fabric with printed patterns. Still visible on the trunks are stickers from the hotels where the Paderewskis stayed, in places like Venice (Royal Danieli), Milan (La Vilee), Florence (Savoy), Turin (Palace), Savona (Excelsior Palace), Naples (Excelsior), Geneva (Colombus), Paris (Palace D’Orsay) and London (Carlton). In addition to being marked with painted stripes to indicate the category of rail transport, the trunks also bear the Paderewski’s monograms.
