Collection of these paintings originated from the album of the documentary paintings of the Eiryeong Nam clan from the early 15th to 18th centuries. Surviving copy is the reproduced copy from the late Joseon dynasty. Painting of a Private Banquet Held at Seoyeongwan during King Jungjong’s Reign, among the five remaining court documentary paintings, depicts the scene of a private banquet that King Jungjong held for the tutors who were in charge of crown prince (later King Injong)’s education at Geunjeongjeon Hall at Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1535. On the back of the painting, the names of 39 banquet attendees are listed in order of their ranks.
