Treaty of Commerce between Joseon and China

In Search of the Lost Originals of the Five Modern Treaties
On September 11, 1899, the second year of the Korean Empire, Emperor Gojong signed the Treaty of Commerce between Korea and China. In this treaty, the Emperor of Korea and the Emperor of China, treating each other as equals, dispatched their ambassadors to sign and ratify the treaty of everlasting friendship.
