Turn Up

While doing fieldwork in Greenwood Marlon F. Hall and Brian Ellison interviewed residents about the impact of the massacre and where the community is today. This is an image of a young man who greeted us with a "Welcome to Greenwood gents!" He introduced himself as "TU" short for "Turn Up" or for Tulsa University where he was a student before dropping out to help his family out by getting a job.
