The enormity of the crowd and the police presence is clearly visible in this view taken in the Hill District. Police were sent to stop the peace march that occurred three days after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ultimately, the march was permitted to take place. Newspapers reported that three unidentified individuals were sent to the hospital after the confrontation.
