The muon hunting telescope, which consisted of three small scintillators fitted on a support bar. The two large scintillators in the foreground are the reference counters. The equipment was placed on top of the concrete blocks in order to find out whether the radiation rate at this height was greater than at ground level. The telescope was moved around the site in the van which contained its associated electronics.
