Ukhal musal (Mortar & Pestle)

Like the previous example, this ukhal musal was also recorded in a verandah of a residence. The ukhal set into the floor was used to grind pulses, which formed the ingredients for preparing khichdi. The musal was made of neem wood; after use, the pestle was rested against the wall as seen in this image.
