A Ndebele fertility doll. Fertility dolls are small, usually anthromorphic forms fabricated by women, with the believed ceremonial use in aspects of maturation and identity of Nguni women. They were made in order to attract eligable husbands and increase fertility for young women. The Ndebele doll is usually heavily detailed with beads to look almost exactly like the clothing of Ndebele women
