Artist statement: "I was that person who had some kind of preconceived notion... but when I got a chance to live with them I felt very normal ... They are just like any one of us... just like you and me..."

#UnderTheHijab is an artists’ collective that aims to break the stereotypes related to those who wear a Hijab. The series was inspired by the story of a young Syrian girl, Sarah, who was called a terrorist for wearing a hijab. Moved and provoked by Sarah’s story the founder of Project FUEL, Deepak Ramola, curated a series of artworks using the hashtag #UnderTheHijab.
