Seated portrait of Sir Mohsin ud-Daula, also transliterated as Mohsin-ood-Dowlah. He married one of the sisters of Amjad Ali Shah, the 4th King of Awadh, making him an uncle of Wajid Ali Shah, the last King of Awadh. He is seated in an ornately carved armchair, next to a table covered with a tablecloth with a paisley-like motif. A flower arrangement can be seen on the table.
