斉藤智 Satoshi Saito (b. 1936)
A native of Tokyo. Saito produced plastic sculptures in the late 1960s, and developed photographic works on the theme of the study of ‘structure’ in ‘seeing’ in the 1970s. Saito won the 10th Grand Prize at the Tokyo International Print Biennale, as well as winning prizes at other print biennales abroad. His works are often introduced in exhibitions dealing with photography as art or modern print.
