Kwon Young-woo(1926-2013) constructed a self-regulating structure by putting Korean papers to the picture, tearing them and making holes. In this work Kwon infiltrated translucent blue grey color into the backside of the paper. The paper is saturated with the color.

In this painting color is not an addition, but a surface itself. The traces on the paper are assimilated with the surface and create a secret tension.

Colors look elegant due to spontaneous shading, and show a sensitive and poetic world creating blotting, contracting and floating images.
