"Among the numerous facets of Santiago Rusiñol (Barcelona, 1861 – Aranjuez, 1931), we must have in mind the one of amateur archaeologist, as well as his passion for collecting. In the year 1913 Rusiñol went to excavate to the Puig des Molins necropolis, in Ibiza, with his friend Josep Costa, antique dealer, also fond of archaeology. They gathered some very interesting Punic, Roman and Islamic pieces that he exhibited at Cau Ferrat. Among them this human head terracotta vase.

We ignore the utility of this kind of objects. Some authors believe that can be libation vases used in religious ceremonies others think that they are baby bottles."
