This vibrant piece of Chinese calligraphy is executed in the style of Shu Pu (A Treatise on Calligraphy) by Sun Guoting (active late 7th century) of the Tang Dynasty. Fung has been studying the work for many years, for both its calligraphy and the authoritative concepts on the art form. In this work, the agile, uninhibited brush movement, the strong sense of rhythm, the variegated ink tones and free configuration of characters demonstrate the beauty of variations in cursive script.
