Vertical Rain

Street scene in Virginia City. Fred's skill with painting rain is evident. As he said "Grayness pervades a rain scene as much as it does a fog scene. Raindrops themselves cannot be painted, but the direction of the rain can be indicated by a few moist brushstrokes."
