This bowl belonged to the Qing imperial treasury as part of its vast collection. The white jade material is pure and free of blemishes. The inside of the bowl features an imperial poem attributed to the Qianlong Emperor intagliated in seal script characters. Lavish gold and red-gemstone inlays ornament the snow-white jade; this piece is typical of the Hindustan style.
