Barton Electric was key in providing early electricity to Brisbane. Edward Gustavus Campbell Barton was appointed Queensland Government Electrician in 1886 and saw to the completing of lighting installations in the parliamentary buildings and government printing office. This photograph was likely taken from the Ann Street Station of the electric company.
