A vintage Piper Cub, painted yellow, with the VT-CNM call sign. This aircraft has glass window panes and a significant canvas covering. It was propelled by a McCauley engine. The aircraft has its origins in the Taylor E-2 of the 1930s, designed by C.G Taylor. Various models of Cubs were produced in consecutive years under several names. The Piper Cubs made their appearance during the period of 1937-1947, the period of the commencement of World War II. The Piper Cub became the trainer of choice for the campus-based civil pilot training program.

This aircraft originally belonged to the Uttar Pradesh Government's Civil Aviation Department, where it operated from the Lucknow Airport and was mainly used for training.
