  • About Creator: Otacílio Batista Patriota (São José do Egito, PE, 1923 - João Pessoa, PB, 2003). Repentista poet, the youngest of the three famous Batista brothers (besides him, Louro and Dimas), son of Raimundo Joaquim Patriota and Severina Guedes Patriota, both from Paraíba, Otacílio participated for the first time in a cantoria in 1940, and in more than half a century of repentes, he participated in cantorias with celebrities such as Cego Aderaldo and others. He won several festivals of singers held in the states of Pernambuco, Ceará, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. He published cordel pamphlets and also poetry books, and had verses set to music by MPB composers.
