Virgin Mary with the Child and Saints

According to a fairly common iconography of the Virgin, with her old mother, St. Anne, and St. Catherine of Alexandria, Mary offers the Child to St. Francis, who is kneeling in front of her. The cavalier saint holding an ostensory is difficult to identify. The naturalness and familiarity of the scene of Bolognese taste are stressed by the colours of Venetian tradition.
