The Virtudes manor-house, nowadays headquarters of the artistic cooperative Árvore, was built in 1767 by order of José Pinto de Meireles and his wife D. Francisca Clara de Azevedo Aranha e Fonseca. Árvore was founded in 1963 and established in the Virtudes estate, two years later.
