Chakki is used to grind various grains, with varying consistencies of flour, as required. The fineness of the flour depends upon the gap between the two grinding stones of a chakki. A simple mechanism consisting of a wedge is built for this purpose. As the wedge is tightened, the mechanism lifts the upper grinding stone, adjusting the gap between the two stones.
