Watercolour test paper taken from travelling watercolour box owned by J.M.W. Turner RA

Royal Academy of Arts
London, United Kingdom

This test paper was originally part of Turner's travelling watercolour box, also in the RA Collection. This is probably the piece of paper described by W.T. Whitley as "a little chart of the colours he used" in an article detailing a recent acquisition of "some interesting relics of Turner". However, it seems unlikely that the test paper was made by Turner himself and the writing is not his.
